January 25 2018 Alexa Good Morning (Queen Victoria's Wedding March)

Good morning. On this day in 1858, the Wedding March by Felix Mendelssohn was popularized by Queen Victoria. Since then, countless brides have walked down the aisle to the tune though I think I would prefer something a little more upbeat. "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" by Beyonce, perhaps?

 Alexa Questions:

Having done this lesson with several students, in my opinion, it's ok to let them pick "Queen Victoria" as the main topic.  Sure, with more advanced students, I would ask them questions to lead them onto "The Wedding March", but since we are asking my newer and more impaired students to pick information out of the air and develop strategies for answering questions and expand their syntax and writing skills, I don't hassle them too much on the fine points of "main idea", rememer that was something your general education classroom teachers kept refining through middle school.  One interesting side note, with some of your more impaired students, you may have to introduce the idea of marriage and weddings.  I then asked them if they were married.  This was good practice for those students who always answer in the affirmative.
